CREATIVE DIRECTION

EMIR

Emir is a Norwegian Grammy-winning artist signed to Sony Music Norway. We developed a more sophisticated visual direction for his photography, press images, and marketing assets, and created a full design guide to ensure a consistent identity across all platforms. I worked closely with him throughout the entire process, which made the project especially rewarding.

And when that first part of the project wrapped, we carried it forward—pushing the brand into a slightly more obscure and rough-edged direction. Nothing dramatic, just a natural continuation. A brand never really sits still, but thats for another day...

I led a visual and creative mapping process with the artist and management to understand how he wanted his music and identity to be expressed. This gave me the chance to get under the skin of his vision and gather a clear direction for everything: photography, styling, grooming, poses, design language, music-video concepts, and online content.

I assembled the full team — photographer, art director/designer, 3D/motion artist, stylist, groomer, and in-house designers and editors — to bring the concept to life. Art Director Erik Herrström translated the graphic language beautifully, and it paired seamlessly with the photography. The project went on to receive multiple awards and international recognition.

This project was incredibly fun and felt truly rich because we brought so many talented people together. We created a huge range of work: stunning photos, beautiful design, 3D elements, animation, strong music videos, animated teasers, GIFs, and stickers. We also collaborated with Humor Niue on a multi-episode series that matched Emir’s sense of humor perfectly, along with a stream of wonderfully obscure memes.
